Resort Reviews for Ocean Sands Beach Club

In response to Jill Melendez comments on Ocean Sands. I have never stayed in unit#9 but I have stayed at Ocean Sands one time a year every year almost since 1990 and I have never seen any of the issues that she is describing. The unit we stay in is always clean. There are TV's in the living room and both bedrooms. If there were those kind of issues we would have discontinued our stay with them a long time ago.

We stayed in room #9 at the end of September. The bathroom was filthy with dirt and a layer of grime in the sink and tub. The walls of the bathroom floor were black and moldy. The shower head and the actual pipe in the bathroom were excessively loose! The shower curtain rod was rusty and the shower curtain was missing a ring. The kitchen was filthy w/food stains and food on the side of the oven. The blender was rusty and dirty. The living room table was broken and the kitchen chairs were dirty. The bedroom had no windows or television, we felt claustrophobic in this very tiny room! Also there was no view of the beach and our only view was the central AC unit and the garbage dumpster. There also was trash and cigarette butts on the patio.

I was a visitor at Ocean Sands over Memorial Week 2009. While there, we fell in love. It's a fantastic little community with very friendly neighbors and other vacation'ers to share your time with. I was impressed by the size of the bedrooms and how clean and updated the condo was. The pool is a great size and the hot tub was very relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the beach which was located almost right outside our door. We loved it so much, we're looking at buying a timeshare!

As of 2004 - This resort is now listed with RCI as a RID (Resort of International Distinction) !

This is a wonderful resort. It is small and quiet. It is one of the few resorts that had a hot tub as well as a pool. The complex is oceanfront and units have balcony’s with beautiful ocean views. The beach is dreamy with sand like flour, it is a drive on beach which makes if fun. New Smyrna is close to many attractions - Daytona, Orlando, Kennedy Space Center (you can see the launches from the balcony of the resort), St. Augustine, National Seashore. Units are 2 BR 2 BA with full kitchen.
