Ah,the El Cid,Riviera Maya. Just got back from Mexico and wished we had stayed at the El Cid this time. We were spoiled! No hotel we've been to since has held a candle to this resort. First, the location (just minutes from the airport and near to the sights and eco-parks, beaches,snorkeling of the Mayan Riviera can't be beat). The hotel is on a manageable scale. Not one of those mega resorts. But the room.Ahh. Facing the beach. We had a huge 2 br/2.5 bathroom suite-immaculate & beautiful with marble everywhere. Plenty of thick towels,nice sheets, robes etc. We faced the carribbean and my wife and I enjoyed an evening soak in our terrce hot tub as we watched the sun set.The enormous pool was a hit with our kids.the beach a delight!
