Each hand-hewn log cabin is a roomy 1,216 square feet, with a lockout door connecting two living spaces, each with a bedroom, living room, full bathroom, and kitchen (one a full kitchen, the other a mini.) Handmade log furniture and a fireplace lend warmth and comfort to your wilderness getaway.
Opportunities for recreation abound. Homer is the Halibut Fishing Capital of the World, and five varieties of salmon--including the mighty King--run from May until September. Fishing charters show you the way to the big ones. Fall hunts, include moose, bear, mountain goat, and caribou, and wildlife viewing is always in season. During the surprisingly mild winters, there are many diversions to enjoy--skijoring, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling get you to the back country. Ice fishing and skating are great activities for any age. Anytime of year is a great time to flightsee. View miles of Alaskan splendor from a plane or helicopter. And don't forget a day cruise among the fjords and islands of Kachemak Bay, where you're likely to see otters, sea lions, sea birds, eagles, seals, and whales. This is truly only a tiny sampling of the wonders that await you when you choose the Alaskan Experience Resort.
