Schooner Landing is "The Friendliest" Resort on the central Oregon coast. Schooner Landing's Cape Cod-style condominiums opened in 1983. This timeshare resort has a billiard table, heated indoor pool, sauna, whirlpool, Jacuzzi, recreation room with kitchen, children's playground, ocean view fire pit, and on site social activities. Beach access is available within walking distance. One and two bedroom condominium units sleep four to eight people. Each unit features deluxe amenities; whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, wet bar, 2 TVs, CD and video and DVD player and a full kitchen including microwave oven. Newport is home to the Oregon Coast Aquarium with its indoor and outdoor displays featuring seals, sea otters, tide pools, shellfish and seabirds. The town's historic Bayfront offers seafood markets, great shopping, art galleries, and wonderful dining. You will find museums, bay and whale watching cruises and you can even admire and photograph the famous Wyland Whaling Walls. Newport is also home to two lighthouses and wide, uncrowded beaches including Agate Beach, Nye Beach and Yaquina Bay. You can enjoy fishing, whale watching and exploring the tidepools of the Yaquina Head Natural Area and Interpretive Center. If golf is your game, you'll find it in Newport, Lincoln City, Toledo, and Gleneden Beach. Visit the local Oyster Farm or any number of fish markets and taste the freshest seafood around.
