Taboo Resort & Golf I and II is the place for getting involved with any number of recreational activities. Situated on the shore of Lake Muskoka provides access to a wide variety of water-based excitement, from waterski and wakeboard lessons to gentle canoe trips on the nearby river. You can choose from a variety of guided programs, or, simply sit back in a traditional Muskoka chair and relax. The safe, sandy beach, is ideal for sunbathing or wading and splashing about with the kids. The North Shore dock and swim area is for those who like to jump right in. Other lakeside activities include beach volleyball court, free use of canoes, pedal-boats and kayaks, and rental of Sea-doo's and pleasure boats. The Shoreline Boardwalk with natural wetland, is a good place for ducks, turtles and herons. Throughout Taboo, you will find four outdoor pools, a ‘Kiddie pool, five tennis courts, indoor pool, fitness center, playground with swings and slides, and Elements Lounge and bar. Additionally, you will find eight kilometers of incredible trails for hiking, free use of mountain bikes, five kilometers of trails to bike, and 1,000 acres of privately-owned Muskoka terrain to explore. Nearby attractions also include Santa's Village, Muskoka Wildlife Centre, Bethune National Historic Site, Rich Hill Candle Shop, Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Reserve, and many more interesting sites.
